Malapianta (The Evil Tree)
John Milton’s “Paradise Lost” inspired this show: an ancient but also current story, a tale about man’s desires and passions. Reflection about human nature, between good and evil.
It starts with a magical, poetic and surreal parade of Angels. Dreamy imaginary night-time creatures – a jubilation of light bodies. The white rank of Angels crosses the city and leads spectators into the seat of action.
The situation changes quickly however: rebellious Angels attempt to gain possession of divine power: a revolt breaks out, order violated. A battle ensues in a revolting exultation of excess, between freedom and loss, between beauty and death: DESCENT INTO THE ABYSSES OF HUMANITY.
